Each year, Woodland Industries recognizes an employer who has provided community work for its participants. This year they chose Winona Controls to be the 2014 Employer of the Year. Accepting the award was Chelsey Leis.
“Since November of 2009 Woodland Industries has teamed up with Winona Controls for employment opportunities for our participants,” Helen Olson, worksite coordinator for Woodland Industries, stated.  “During the summer several of our participants get to enjoy the summer air and mow and trim Winona Controls lawn, and every other Friday a work supervisor brings an enclave crew of 3-4 participants to Winona Controls to clean their office building.  Winona Controls is always friendly to our participants and they truly enjoy working there. Winona Controls has been very supportive of our programs in Houston County and this year was a major sponsor of our “Hittin’ the Sand for Woodland” fundraiser.  We appreciate the work opportunities at Winona Controls and their advocacy to our programs.”

With archery season fast approaching, Winona Controls is busy getting some local projects out of the ground. We will be working close to home on a new Caledonia Haulers addition and Valley View Healthcare & Rehab in Houston will have several ongoing projects in the next couple months. We are also very pleased that the Organic Valley Office in Cashton has resumed and will be in full swing within the next month.
